My most recent motivational discovery was 100 Foot Wave on Max, formerly HBO Max.
The two-season documentary series follows big wave surfer Garrett McNamara as he attempts to ride, you guessed it, a 100-foot-tall wave.
McNamara, his friends and family and the others featured throughout the series are remarkable characters but Nazare, Portugal, Hawaii's famous Jaws surf break and other destinations truly steal the show.
You don't have to have a passion for surfing to fall in love with 100 Foot Wave as viewers will quickly get lost in its mesmerizing landscapes.
The camera angles, soundtrack and interviews are incredibly compelling and will pull you into the world of big wave surfing.
Watching on a big screen with high definition will only intensify the experience.
If you're like me, you'll be Googling Nazare in no time and mapping out your Portugal vacation.
The series even dedicates some time to detailing how McNamara helped put Nazare on travelers' radar by bringing surfers and his dream of riding the world's biggest wave to Portugal's Silver Coast.
Nazare is now a renowned destination and a mecca of big wave surfing and the series showcases it at every opportunity, from its unparalleled natural beauty to its charming and friendly locals.
There might be too much to choose from in the streaming era but that just increases the potential for incredible discoveries like 100 Foot Wave.
It's often we find a new favorite show but not often we find one that inspires us to leave the house.
