For Baby Boomers and those of a certain age, the argument back in the day was always who was better: The Osmond Brothers or the Jackson 5?
Specifically, it was Donny Osmond versus Michael Jackson.
Osmond was practically raised in the spotlight with his brothers, then branched out on his own and had his own television show teaming with his sister Marie. The duo later headlined in Las Vegas.
Now Donny is extending his residency into next year at Harrah’s Hotel in Las Vegas.
But it’s without Marie.
Donny's Harrah's residency was set to end November 11 but he has added four months and 55 more shows starting on January 23. Tickets for the new shows in the residency for next year are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
Hard to believe, but Osmond is now 65 years old. He is currently on tour in the United States and begins a tour of the United Kingdom on November 28.
This will be his first solo residency.
He had a previous 11-year residency with Marie at the Flamingo Hotel. Residencies in Las Vegas are all the rage now, but they are mostly populated by younger and more current acts. But the ‘Puppy Love’ singer seems to have an enduring popularity.
