The course begins with the Specialist General Course, a three-chapter learning model that is a comprehensive overview of Japan. 

Following the Specialist General Course is the Japan Travel Specialist Master's Course. This learning path allows advisors to delve deep into their Japan discovery and learn to sell the country based on their clients' interests. The course focuses on history, cuisine, contemporary architecture, sports, nature and more. 

Travel advisors who complete the learning path are eligible for certification as a Japan Specialist. 

An added benefit of certification is that travel advisors can earn continuing education credit from the Travel Institute or the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies.
