Mary Pat Sullivan will expand her role at Northstar Travel Group this summer, taking over the new position of EVP of Marketing and Partnerships, as Anthony Carnevale, current SVP and Group Publisher of the Retail Travel Group, departs the company on August 4 to join the Avis Budget Group as VP Commercial Accounts and Mid-Market.
Northstar Travel Group's Retail Travel Group includes TravelPulse, along with brands like Travel Weekly and TravelAge West.
In her new role, Sullivan will continue her focus on developing marketing initiatives for Northstar and building the company’s partnerships with its all-important audience and suppliers. Her new responsibilities will include contributing to the strategic direction of the Retail Travel Group and leading its sales team.
Sullivan has worked or consulted for the Retail Group brands for more than 20 years and is currently involved in the day-to-day operations of the department. The experience and industry acumen she's acquired in that time will ensure a seamless transition of leadership within the Retail Travel Group.
"I would like to thank Anthony for his contributions and commitment to Northstar for the past 12 years," said Bob Sullivan, Chief Commercial Officer and President of Northstar Travel Group. "From elevating the BTN brand to navigating the challenges of COVID to leading our entire Retail Group through the integration of the TravelPulse portfolio and the expansion of our presence in the market, he has played a crucial role in the company’s growth. We wish him success in his next chapter at Avis Budget Group."
"For more than two decades, I have worked or consulted for these brands, and in my current role, I am involved in the day-to-day operations of the Retail Travel Group so this is a natural progression for our team and continues my work within the industry to strengthen and evolve the Northstar portfolio," said Mary Pat Sullivan. "I look forward to executing the initiatives and strategies Anthony and our entire leadership team have developed."
"The travel industry is seeing so much robust activity and we are excited to be here for our partners and advisors," added Bob Sullivan. "Our group is in great hands as we look to go forward. The combination of Mary Pat and Alicia Evanko-Lewis, EVP of Global Events, give us a world-class leadership team as we forge ahead and help the industry embrace the world of travel."
