Thailand Travel Guide

Thailand is a Southeast Asian country known for its beautiful beaches, ancient temples, delicious food, and vibrant culture. It's a great place to visit for many reasons.

The natural beauty of Thailand is breathtaking. From the clear blue waters of the Andaman Sea on the west coast to the lush green mountains of the north, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The beaches of southern Thailand, such as Phuket and Koh Samui, are particularly famous for their white sand and crystal-clear water.

Getting around Thailand is easy, and there are a couple of ways to do so. One of our favorite ways to get around is by tuk-tuk. Tuk-tuks are small three-wheeled vehicles that provide transport in most cities and towns. They are a cheap and quick way to get around, and you can usually negotiate a price with the driver.

Alternatively, you can take a taxi, which is also a convenient and affordable way to travel. Other options for getting around include buses, trains, and motorbike taxis.

Thailand is known for its breathtaking natural beauty, delicious cuisine, and welcoming culture. From the inviting beaches of the South to the bustling markets of the North, this country has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to relax, explore, or party, Thailand has an abundance of activities to suit any traveler.

Important Things to Know

Currency

The currency in Thailand is the Thai Baht (THB). It is denoted by the symbol "฿."

It's easy to exchange foreign currency at banks or currency exchange booths, which you can find at airports, shopping centers, and tourist areas. ATMs are widely available and can be used to withdraw Thai Baht using a foreign debit or credit card.

Tipping is less common than in some other countries, so you don't need to worry about that.

National Languages

Thailand's official languages are Thai and English. Thai is the primary language spoken by most of the population.

English is widely understood, especially among those working in the tourism and hospitality industries, making it the go-to language for international visitors.

Other languages spoken in Thailand include Chinese dialects, Lao, and Karen.

Climate And Weather

Thailand has a tropical climate with high humidity and temperatures. The temperatures are at their lowest during the winter months (November to February), while the summer months (March to May) can be pretty hot.

Rainfall is typical all year round, with occasional storms and heavy downpours.

The best time to visit Thailand is from November to February when the weather is relatively cool and dry. This is also the peak tourist season, so prices can be higher than usual. During this time, the country is adorned with colorful lights and decorations for several festivals, including Loy Krathong and Songkran.

March to April is another good time to visit, as the weather is still pleasant and there are fewer crowds.
