Las Vegas Boulevard
Also known as The Strip, this is the most famous street in the city. Try your hand at gambling at one of the 30 casinos to choose from! And if you enjoy a good party, you’ll love it here. If not, you can still take a stroll down the street and take some beautiful photos.
The resorts boast interesting architecture that we loved admiring while strolling the Strip. It’s a definite must-see.
The Bellagio Fountain Show
The Bellagio Fountain Show is a free attraction that never gets old. The show combines water, music, and light, to create a mesmerizing display.
There are about 1000 fountains that shoot 460 feet into the sky, accompanied by close to 4800 lights.
On weekends and holidays, you can catch a show every 30 minutes until 7 pm.
Go For A Gondola Ride
One of the best activities in the city is taking a gondola ride along the Grand Canal inside the casino.
You’ll get to float under bridges, past restaurants, and have people walking along the pathways on either side of you. It feels just like Venice!
Take A Ride On The High Roller
The High Roller is the world’s tallest Ferris wheel. It’s also one of the top Las Vegas attractions, with glass-enclosed cabinets that give you a full view of the city.
Seeing the city from the height of the High Roller is an iconic Vegas activity you can’t miss.
Watch One Of The Current Shows
Vegas is famous for its residencies, and we highly recommend watching a show if there’s one on while you’re in town. You can see some of the biggest names in Hollywood, or even watch the grand spectacle that is a Cirque du Soleil show.
The show is held at the Bellagio and is set on an aquatic stage. The performers do their acts in water, and it’s incredible to see!
Helicopter Ride Over The Strip
Why not soar over the Strip in a helicopter? The rides are generally offered at night, giving you the opportunity to see the lights from up above.
This one is an activity for the more adventurous souls, as helicopter rides can be a bit daunting. If you feel up for it though, we highly recommend it as it’s a lot of fun!
Volcano Show At The Mirage
The volcano show is a free Las Vegas attraction that you absolutely must see. You can enjoy the show in front of the Mirage Hotel, which you’ll find on The Strip.
The show is made up of water, sound, fire, and explosions. It was created by the same team that created the Fountains of Bellagio, so you can expect a spectacle of note.
There are four shows each night, and we recommend arriving early to get a good spot.
Visit A Museum
This is the perfect activity for those of you who prefer peaceful, quiet outings. Las Vegas is home to some of the most unique museums in the world.
The Neon Museum lets you view Vegas through the lens of its historical neon signs, some dating back as far as the 1930s.
The Mob Museum teaches you about the history of organized crime in America. This is where the Kefauver Committee hearings were held in 1950, which exposed organized crime in the country.
Hike The Red Rock Canyon
The Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area is only 16 miles from Las Vegas. In our opinion, this is the best activity in the area for the outdoorsy types.
It offers over two dozen hiking trails, and a variety of flora and fauna, so keep your eyes peeled.
