If you’re going to spend your hard-earned money on a trip to Switzerland, your experience has to be worth it. That’s why it’s important to prepare a list of things to do in Switzerland before embarking on your trip.

If you don’t know where to start, we’ve compiled a list of the best activities to participate in that guarantee an unforgettable adventure.

Experience The Matterhorn

The Matterhorn is one of the most famous mountains in the Swiss Alps. The mountain stands out because of its iconic pyramid shape and steep snow-covered slopes.

The main allure of the Matterhorn is its magnificent views and natural beauty. You can hike, ski, ride a train, cable car, or gondola to enjoy these stunning views.

Paragliding In Interlaken

For adrenaline junkies who want to test their limits, we recommend paragliding in Interlaken.

You’ll get to fly past part of the Harder Kulm mountain and over the town as you glide down to your landing spot. We guarantee you’ll be awestruck by the fantastical views of lakes Brienz and Thun beside the town of Interlaken.

Go on the Bernina Express Tour

The Bernina Express Tour is a full-day tour where you travel to the highest point reachable by train in Europe. However, this isn’t what makes the tour an incredible experience.

You get to see the breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps, waterfalls, lakes, and glaciers on your tip. The various changes in landscape and environment feel like you’re seeing a living postcard.

The tour includes a stop in St. Moritz, where you’ll get time to explore and experience the town, spas, restaurants, and beautiful countryside.

Participate In The Chocolate Flavours Tour In Geneva

If you’re a chocolate enthusiast, there’s a whole chocolate experience for you in Geneva.

We highly recommend this exciting tour where you’ll taste some of the finest chocolate in the world. You’ll also learn the rich history of Geneva and its obsession with chocolate. Along the way, you’ll take in breathtaking views and sights of buildings and monuments, some of which go way back to medieval Europe.

Enjoy The Switzerland Hikes

Part of the Swiss experience involves hiking on the many mountains and trekking trails. It’s good for the mind and body and is our favorite way to experience the wonders of Switzerland’s amazing fauna and flora.

Some of the best hiking trails to visit include the Eiger trail, Aletsch glacier panorama trail, Burgenstock Felsenweg, Pzol lake hike, and Uina Gorge.

Walk On A 700 Year Old Bridge

It’s not every day you get the chance to walk on a 700-year-old bridge. That’s why you’ve got to visit the Chapel Bridge (Kapellbrücke) that hovers above the Reuss River.

Constructed in 1333 (it burned down in 1993 and was later restored), Kapellbrücke is unique because it includes paintings depicting the history of Lucerne.

Next to the bridge is the 35-meter tower, believed to have been constructed around the year 1200 and used for Lucerne’s defense. While you can’t access the inside, it’s still an incredible view of a part of medieval Europe.

Skiing On The Alps

The Swiss experience isn’t complete without visiting a ski resort. In our opinion, part of the allure of skiing in Switzerland, aside from the adrenaline and rush of gliding down the mountains at high speed, is the opportunity to take in the amazing scenes, including forests, glaciers, and the Alpine mountains.

The luxurious ski resorts also build on your experience by allowing you to taste Swiss cuisine and enjoy some of the world’s best wines.

The best places to ski in Switzerland include St. Moritz, Grindelwald, Crans Montana, Engelberg-Titlis, Davos, and Zermatt.
