At its recent Educational Seminar for Tourism Organization (ESTO) Conference, held in Savannah, Georgia from August 19–22, the U.S. Travel Association (U.S. Travel) conferred its 2023 Destiny and Mercury Awards upon recipients.
Honors for excellence and creativity in destination marketing, as well as driving visitation, which is critical to the travel industry’s continued growth were awarded across 21 different categories.
“These awards—the only of their kind to recognize excellence in travel and tourism marketing campaigns at the city and state level—are a best-in-class showcase of creativity reflecting the unique travel destinations of our country,” said Nan Marchand Beauvois, Senior Vice President of Membership and Industry Relations at the U.S. Travel Association. “Congratulations to this year’s Destiny and Mercury award winners for their outstanding achievements in travel promotion.”
The two separate accolades are awarded for superior merit among destination marketing professionals on two separate scales. The Destiny Awards denote excellence in destination marketing on the local and regional level, while Mercury Awards honor the same set accomplishments as achieved on the state level. A panel of more than 60 esteemed marketing experts convenes to consider and selected the honorees.
Award categories included: broadcast advertising; video, film or podcast series; public relations campaign; integrated marketing and messaging campaign; and destination website, among others.
