St. Kitts and Nevis, islands in the Caribbean sea, are some of the most majestic places we’ve ever visited. The clear turquoise waters, perfect weather, and colorful towns were otherworldly.

Besides the beautiful views, St. Kitts and Nevis also has a host of local activities to get you excited about your visit. With so much to do, we’ve compiled a list of the best things to do in St. Kitts and Nevis. These were the activities we loved the most - ones we’re sure you will enjoy too!

St Kitts Rainforest

For us, the best way to start our tour of St. Kitts and Nevis was with a trip through the local fauna. St Kitts is covered in forested land, which comes alive in the blazing sun and tropical heat.

With the help of a local tour guide, you might also see some of the local wildlife. For us, it completed the movie-magic moment in this tropical paradise.

Scenic Railway Tour

Built in the 1900s, the 23 km long railway was meant to transport sugar cane. Since then, it’s been transformed into a very popular tourist attraction - one we think is worth the hype.

The railway takes tourists on a journey along the island and through the St. Kitts mountains. Besides being a beautiful tour and enjoying the experience of the double-decker train, we also felt the trip was an important educational experience. We learned a lot about St. Kitts, which helped us appreciate our time there more.

Pinney’s Beach

If you want to spend some time in the tropical waters of the Caribbean sea, Pinney’s beach in Nevis is the place to be. The 4-mile long stretch of beach is extremely popular both locally and internationally and has been featured in many iconic travel photos.

The beach is very natural and we loved that there wasn’t an overwhelming modern feel to it. The rugged atmosphere felt at home with the wildlife roaming the beach, water, and sky. And if you see a crowd, don’t worry. You can just trek further down the longshore until you find a spot you like.

Fairview Great House & Botanical Gardens

The Fairview Great House was built in 1701 and is filled with period-specific furniture and items. After being restored, the house was opened to the public and visitors can now learn about St. Kitts and Nevis while exploring its long corridors.

While the mansion was amazing, to us, the true jewel of the palace was outside the mansion. It’s surrounded by the Fairview Botanical Gardens, a lush and lively paradise. You can explore the gardens while listening to the monkeys and birds rustle around.

Swim With Dolphins

Get up close and personal with the wildlife by swimming with dolphins. St. Kitts and Nevis dolphin swimming excursions don’t take place in a pool like dolphin swimming traditionally does. Instead, they take you right to the dolphins in their natural habitat.

Not only is it much better for the dolphins, but it allows you to experience swimming with the dolphins like you’re one of them. While swimming, we also got to learn about dolphin behavior and conservation efforts for their habitats.

Brimstone Hill Fortress

Another historic building that completely took us by surprise was the Brimstone Hill Fortress. The old British fort is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is one of the most preserved historical monuments in the Americas.

Climbing to the top of the hill was amazing. But the highlight for us was seeing the view of the island and the sea.

Frigate Bay

Frigate Bay is where you go to kick back and relax. The bay has two coves with wonderful crystalline waters and cocktail bars.

We enjoyed our time here immensely and used it to recharge after all the traveling. The water, vibes, and drinks were the perfect end to our stay.

Begin St. Kitts And Nevis Adventure

St. Kitts and Nevis is a hidden gem. The islands are small but jam-packed with gorgeous views and tons of fun. From touring old mansions to swimming with dolphins, you’ll never be bored while trekking through this modern-day paradise.
